Same here. I'm more concerned about the extra vibration starting to eat away at the frame or pipe at that point. I've been keeping a close eye on it and so far no worries.

My Q4 was touching the frame too. I did a little grinding to clear the pipe and touched it up with some paint. I had to get a longer bolt too.

Here's what I had to grind off, the line on the right side of the bracket shows what I removed from the left side.

I just installed My Q4 and powerbomb.
I had the same clearance issue and frustrating time getting the bolt in at the mid pipe mount. I ended up using a longer bolt and a washer to get a little more clearance. Super frustrating!!!!!!!! It mounted up with ease this way. I think I have enough clearence now but barely............barely. It does seam like the dimple is in the wrong spot.
I also have a concern regarding the fact that in order to have the bolts line up on the pipe, you cant have it inserted all the way into the header. I am going to take it off tonight to re silicone the joint between the header and the pipe, the seal was broken with so much trial and error at the mid pipe bolt. Anyone have a pic of the system where the pipe and header meet or knowledge of whether the pipe MUST be inserted all the way into the header. How do you test for an exhaust leak at the joint?

you could probably spray some water on the joint and rev it up a bit .. if there is a leak you should see the water spray. i have not checked mine but just listening mine does not sound like it is leaking. i spoke to FMF on the phone about it and explained the fact the pipe has to be pulled back a bit in order to line up the bolt holes. they told me its ok.

Giving a bump to a good

I'm also having trouble getting the mid-bolt started. I'll try reversing the clip first. If that doesn't work I'll get a longer bolt and some washers (some for the rear bolt too just in case.)

I highly recommend a test mounting before applying silicone. (that might get taken out of context now that our 'dirty' moderator is back online! Very happy )

I used a slightly longer bolt, went in easily.

I also had a tiny bit of frame clearance problem. 3 minutes with a file followed by a tiny bit of spray paint.

It's all bolted up, sounds nice, not too loud. Now to remove the AIS, then AI fuel programmer adjustments, then a test ride. wink

Doesn't surprise me that some fit different from others
There's always going to be production tolerance differences with both the bike and the FMF parts, I bet there are a lot more tolerance issues with FMF than the stock bike
Crashing can bend the subframe slightly, might be hard to see but would certainly change the alignment of the parts
There can be any combination of these variables
There's no such thing as perfect fit for every acc, the problem is that fit and finish of factory bikes is so good that margin of error is much narrower than on older bikes
I've always said "Bolt on = adjust bike or part as necc" and "universal fit = fit's nothing well"
