2016 sprocket bolts Empty
PostSubject: 2016 sprocket bolts   2016 sprocket bolts EmptyFri May 27, 2016 4:31 pm

I have recently bought a 2016 wr250r and was planning on changing rear sprocket to a 48T. I have noticed the original 43T sprocket holes are not counter sunk. I am having trouble finding a sprocket without the counter sunk holes and am thinking of just changing to a counter sunk sprocket and purchasing new bolts with the taper. The sprocket bolts listed with JT sprockets are size- 14.2 x 8.6 x 2.5. My question is will these be the right size?

Thanks for any input.

Just flip the sprocket over... the other side is not counter sunk. I have many many miles on mine.

I don't reuse sprocket bolts, they don't always stay tight the second time around, if you do reuse them use lots of red locktite.

Most bike shops or dealers have sprocket bolt kits that fit the new sprocket you have, they're the same for all the mx bikes, wrr's, wrf's, etc.

Go here:

I bought the kit when I did my 48 tooth conversion and the JT sprocket used the stock bolts....

As stated earlier, just flip the sprocket, or buy correct bolts at a hardware store.

JT Sprockets steel sprockets for our bikes have both countersunk and non-countersunk holes.

Part number JTR245/2.xx (substitute the desired number of teeth for "xx").  I paid $26 for my last one on Amazon.
