 12x43 vs 13x46 Gearing.

I have read that the 13x46 is the better option but what is the reason? They both have almost identical gear ratio. The 13x46 is much more expensive change that requires a new chain and a large rear sprocket.

Because with a 12 tooth sprocket you can run into issues with the chain wearing through the slider and into the swingarm.

although some people seem to have success with the 12 tooth sprocket, A 13/46 combo is a safer bet.
