In the market for a torque wrench and wondering if I can use this one: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-3-8-in-Drive-Click-20-ft-lb-to-100-ft-lb-Torque-Wrench/3381200.

It's a 3/8 drive 20-100ft lb. My question is can I go from 3/8 drive to 1/2 adapter to 22 or 27 mm socket? I'll be using it to torque the axle nuts which are 46lb and 94lb I believe.

Yes you can use an adapter... I do it all the time. However, if you have a Harbor Freight near you, they have them much cheaper and they work as well. You can find a coupon for only $9.99.

I have this torque wrench. I use it with an adapter for the 27mm. The 22mm socket I have is 3/8" drive so I don't need it for that...

I use the 9.99 harbor freight torque wrenches. I got a bit nervous over what might be perceived quality. I bought an electronic torque wrench adapter. I used it to check the wrenches settings. Turns out each wrench was just slightly under the spec that they were set. the last thing I wanted to do was strip a bolt because the wrenches were mis-calibrated and would over tighten bolts.

I had heard you want to roughly target the middle of the wrench load, you'll get a more accurate setting. That led me to getting all 3 of the wrenches.

One thing that I learned on the 1/4 drive. If you turn very gently you might not trigger the "Click" on smaller bolts. that could lead to over tightening. when turning the small bolts I always incrementally tighten and turn the bolt with a small bit of force so I know the wrench will Click.

That's what I have used. I feel pretty comfortable using the HF torque wrenches.
