I've got a set of warp 9 dirt wheels for my 2010 WR250X on the way, and I'm currently running my sumo tires with a 13/44 setup. I'm planning on putting on a 47T sprocket on the dirt wheels when they arrive. If I wanted to be able to use the same chain to go between these two, I think I would need a 110 link chain. Can someone confirm that? I'm basing that on a lot of forum posts and the tables on this post: advrider.com/index.php?threads/yamaha-wr250r-mega-thread.329337/page-75#post-8568611 (no link because I'm a noob, I guess).

Seems like the 13/47 might be a stretch for the 110 link chain but I want to be able to keep the previous owner's sprocket (he shelled out for a supersprox stealth).

Get a 112 link...it will give you flexibility for future changes if needed.  I ran 13/48 with my 112, now I run a 14/48 with the same chain, etc.

Well yes that will work for the 13/47, but that would be too large for my existing 13/44 for street use. I'm trying to get a chain I can keep during wheel changes.

Not gonna happen with that big a difference in sprocket size but you MIGHT be able to get away with a 110. Put a bigger sprocket on the street wheel set and when you change wheels just swap between a 13 or 14 tooth front.

Yeah, use 47 on both sets of wheels, and change the CS sprocket.

As mentioned in just about every thread discussing sprocket and chain changes, gearingcommander.com has online calculators that will tell you how much different combinations of sprockets and gears will move the rear axle forward or backward. If the distance the axle moves is too much for available axle block chain tension range, then you'll have to use a different length chain.
