I'd say it was great news, but the only real "news" is that the previous rumors turned out to be false, as is often the case.

That is great news. I had always planned on trading my 2008 on a new one someday.

A scare tactic, I bet the 2017's sold like hot cakes during that time.

I believe they are still built in Japan.

If the first two digits of the VIN are JY (Japan Yamaha), it's built in Japan.

I bought a 2017 in November last year. At the time the 2018's were selling at msrp $6700, the 2017 was $5900.
