| I finally bent my stock bars and after reading other posts I think I'm going to go with pro taper contour as my replacement. I was really quite proud of myself for doing my own research and not making another post that's been covered extensively , but when I went to order and found 13 different bends to choose from..... mind blown. I have zero previous experience, this is literally my first motorcycle. I'm 6'1", and do like to stand up while offroad, but honestly 2/3 of my riding is on pavement. So.....which bend would you suggest? | |

| You're going to get opinions all over the map on this as it's very much a matter of riding style, preference and experience (or lack of) with multiple bends/bars.
I'm 6' 1" as well and my other bike is a WR250F. On that bike I stand 70+% of the time and added bar risers to get it right for standing and technical riding. After a lot of research on the 250R I went with ProTaper EVO Handlebar Windham MX/RM Mid Bend and the ProTaper Universal Solid Handlebar Mount Kit (raises bars another 3/4"). That turned out to be pretty close, though I still felt I could use another inch or so. Later I added Fastway Evo 4 Foot Pegs, which lowered my the inch and gave me a better feel on the bike.
I also find I'm sitting way more than my 250F but the bars feel great for that and when I do stand things are good. I don't know enough to know if other bars would have been better or not, looking forward to hearing what others have.
Cheers. | |

| At 6' 1" and liking to stand while riding I would probably go with the higher bends they offer (see the chart on the attached page):

I am running the KX High but I am also running a Scotts underbar steering damper which adds a bit more height.
They also sell a line of SE bars (7/8's) that I think have a bit more bend but also feature a cross bar.

| Thanks for the input, I guess I want something that is higher but doesn't feel too differently. I'll check out that chart. | |

I recently replaced stock bars with Pro Taper SE CR-Mid just because I had them in the garage from another project and they are very close to the stock bend. Anecdotally I'd say they are a touch straighter, lower and wider but not by much. I adapted to them almost immediately. I ride with 30mm Tusk risers fwiw. They're good quality bars. This could also be your chance to try a different bend if, say, you wanted higher bars or similar. -morgan

| +1 on the Protaper with the KX High Bend.
I wasn't really sure about all the measurements so I went to a local shop and went through the bars until I found what felt right. I definitely like fat bars without the crossbar, the height is a little lower than I like but I'll probably put on a Scott's with a SUB mount to raise them up a little.

| Thanks for the input, I feel better about guessing which bend. I think I'm going to try the CR high bend, I do find myself hunching over when I stand. Anyone used the "chub bar" from Rocky Mtn ATV? https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/-/19027/Tusk-Chub-1-1-8%22-Big-Bar?s=161177
It got good reviews on their website.
