Finally got around to installing some new Zeta levers. Apart from the from excess "up and down" play due to the levers being a bit thinner than the stockers, I am really unimpressed by the 1/8 clearance between the brake lever and the master cylinder plunger. Atleast the stockers have an adjustment screw to take up this play but with the Zeta's, I have to leave the stock "return" spring out or else you have to move the lever almost 1/2 an inch before it makes contact with the master cylinder plunger. And before you ask, according to the package, it's the correct part number.

I'll look into installing a set screw somehow but this is BS. Zeta Levers - Not Impressed 724854

Not sure what the difference might be but I am very happy with mine, they adjust just like the stockers using the stock springs too. Zeta Levers - Not Impressed Icon_scratch

I've got them on my DRZ and WR and have no complaints.

Not sure what you mean. The stockers only have the screw and locknut adjustment for clearance to the master cylinder plunger.

Here's the gap. Measures .055 and results in a lot of excess play at the end of the lever.

So rather than modify the levers with a set screw, I made a little rimmed spacer to fit over the plunger. Edges are all
smoothed and polished so as not to wear out the dust seal. A little lathe in the garage is great for this sort of thing.

A dab of silicone to keep it place and my gap is now gone to zero. There is a tiny bit of interference to the plunger (.002-.003)
but I'm sure the spacer and lever will wear in a bit in time as they are both aluminum. Either way, the brakes aren't pressurized
as the wheel still spins freely.

Just be sure the piston in the master cylinder is always allowed to fully extend until it stops when you're not on the brake. :)
