| I have a DR350SE with the usual power mods:
3x3 jet kit pipe
Just wondering how it would compare to the WRR for power? I know the newer bike has better suspension, FI, etc, etc, but I'm curious as to how the 2 bikes compare for low end & high end grunt :)

| The DR-350SE will have more low end power and torque because it's a 350. Period. The WR-250R will be a lighter-feeling bike with more modern ergonomics and a more modern general feel to it. Will be quicker reving and probably have more top end power, at least once the typical mods are done to it. | |

| Tibby's got an XT350. Both him and myself have done some comparing with his ride and mine, and hands down my bike blows his away. Climbing, straight tracking, cornering, going over technical stuff, and speed. He couldn't believe how much of a difference there was between mine and his. He's still itching to get one if he can find one cheap enuf this way. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| Just sold my DR350 that was modded out. Had 4k miles on the bike, I was the 2nd owner and it was nearly 20 years old! It was a tractor and could climb any hill. Thing was light (because of the take-offs and lack of a battery), but then again, it was a tractor. Thing shifted with long throws and the power was on or off. The WR is a massive improvement in nearly every way. I took great care of the 350 and thought it was in great shape. The magic button works well and I don't even miss the power difference (because the 250 spools so much faster). Took the 350 and did the 6 Days of Michigan on it last year. That was fun, but the 250 would have been much easier on the actual dual sport sections. Higher speeds are much easier on the 250.
Bike had. . .
Custom aluminum airbox with K&N filter Flat slide pumper carb from the dirt model bike Big Gun slip on exhaust (I repacked the exhaust in 2008) Stiffer front springs on the forks and shock SRC front fork brace SRC front fork guards One tooth down on the front sprocket Kouba link to raise/straighten the suspension Aftermarket alloy handle bars Acerbis flip mirror Battery eliminator (uses a capacitor), makes the bike very light weight.
After purchasing the bike in 2007 I added: Tall seat with a new blue/black cover DR bar risers that take the bars forward and up about 2” Cycra ProBend handguards Front fender from a DRZ400SM Black number plates on the front, sides and rear Wide foot pegs Small turn signals (rubber mounted in rear to avoid breaking in the event of a crash) Baja Designs tail light with custom license plate holder Long distance tail rack Bike has Pirelli Scorpion tires that are completely balanced for dual sporting

| I have a '90 DR250S that is in stock form. Only has 3,800 miles on it. Bought a WR250R a few months ago thinking the new bike would make me a better rider off road. Of coarse it didn't work that way. The DR feels like it has more torque. The WR likes to rev higher and is faster. I like the WR's suspension better. If I had to keep the DR I'd need to jet the carb, and re-spring both front and back. I was looking at dumping $$$$ into a bike barely worth $$$$. The WR will cruise at 70 while the DR is scarey over 50. Brakes, WR hands down. For dirt trails, both bikes work and are a blast to ride. On road, the WR is my choice. | |

| Oh yeah, best thing about the DR350 . . . if I crashed, wrecked, dropped it, flipped it, etc. I sure didn't really care that much. I'm usually pretty sad if I drop a new bike. | |

| They all start off shiny and new...then 20 drops later they look like that. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I went from modded DR430 (Thumper) to modded KDX 220 to WR250R . Would like a WR250r with the power of my DR and the weight of the KDX!! Love my WR, way smoother on the road and admirable off. Much better starting point as both the DR and KDX have frame / suspension technologies dating back to the eighties. Swarty | |

| I had a DR350SE and now (a few bikes later) have a WR250R. The biggest surprise to me is that the WRR is smoother on the highway. I try to avoid slab but sometimes it is unavoidable. I remember stopping on a 35 mile stretch of slab just to rest on my DR because the vibration was numbing my hands, butt and feet. | |

Ouch... My pride... You hurt Torch's feeling sis... But yeah, the WR is on a whole different level than my aircooled 350, I'd say it's power to weight ratio is right up there with my RD350LC.
