howdy from Fort Worth TX area .... Though I've already posted a few time in the thread about rear racks, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little background.
my name is Tom, and I'm a motorcycle junkie. After several Briggs powered home-built mini bikes and a Western Auto Whizzer, I got my first "real" motocycle at age 12, a Ducati 80; I've been addicted ever since. Next 5 bikes were all Yamaha street machines ...then I got hooked on the hard stuff - a DKW Sachs "shiftless six spd" enduro, a few Husqvarna 250WR's for ISDT (today's ISDE) qualifier racing, a Yamaha YZ400 (aka the Ditch Digger), a Suzy-Q RM250, several Harleys (from a '75 iron head Sporty to Roadking and a couple of E-Glides). For the past few years I've enjoyed lone rider/long distance touring on two-lanes and gravel roads...on an '02 E-Glide with 165,000+ miles on the clock....
My favorite brand of motorcycle is one with two good tires, a full tank of gas, and ready to ride the next dirt road jus' to see where it goes... everything else is just fluff.
thumper_tx is responsible for my being here
...and he's workin' hard to convince me to buy a WR250R
looking forward to lurking, listening, and learning more about these cool bikes!
