| I haven't seen anyone with one yet. Since I'm still on stock exhaust, I'm interested to hear your review. Be sure to post up after you get some seat time with it. Esp would like to know about noise. FMF claiming a possible 1.5db drop with it. | |

| Put a powercore and megabomb on my r2 a couple of months ago. I can't believe how much the bike has changed. I could barely pull the front wheel of the ground on a fast acceleration, but now I have to be careful that I don't loop-out! I don't know how it compares to the powerbomb, so I can't speak as to the difference of the two.
As for noise, it's pretty loud with the powercore. I know most people have the Q. If I just putt-putt around and stay off the gas it sounds almost stock, which is awesome when you're just cruising around people/houses. But, as soon as you get on the gas it's definitely not quiet.

Not the megabomb. Can you post a link to the Megabomb closeout please?
Is it remotely possible that you can gain 10% horsepower through just the header pipe?
Does anyone have a Dyno test before and after with no other modifications than adding just the header pipe? _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| I can't remember all the details - BUT when I talked to FMF a while back they said they didn't make the megabomb for our bikes? | |

Did you put the Mega and Q4 on at the same time? Was it a noticeable improvement?

Did you put the Mega and Q4 on at the same time? Was it a noticeable improvement? Ya it gave it a lil more grunt. And made it actually sound like a real motorcycle. lol. I have a good hook up with aftermarket parts so i went with the Mega. My buddy has the Powerbomb on his and they sound very similar. He's geared to 12/46 whereas i'm still stock gearing. So it's hard to tell the difference in power between the two.

Does anyone have a Dyno test before and after with no other modifications than adding just the header pipe? It looks like i got the last one. I got it for $179 shipped FYI - BigBird wrote:

| well got it all bolted up.... AWESOME. she feels like a real bike! lol I hate to say that, but after a ride on Sunday where i did a bike swap with a kx250f it had me bummed. the bike is WAY more responsive, bit more power down low and just way better to ride! I cut out the airbox flapper, cut out the snorkel, fmf programmer, q4, and mega bomb And its not just me saying this to justify my hard earned $$$ spent. Had 2 friends ride it and they liked it better as well. One friend liked it so much he wants to sell his klx250 with a big bore kit to get a r and my helper | |

| It looks bad-ass to be sure.
When I have nothing left to buy for my X I'll consider a header. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| I love jello shots.
The downside of the megabomb is how much heat the damn thing throws off on your right leg. I tried wrapping it in thermotec, but the transition from small to large in the bulge is too sharp, the wrap won't lay correctly. I just found on DennisKirk a carbon fiber heat shield for a megabomb. It is listed to fit the 01-07 wr/yz megabomb pipes, so we'll see if it is close enough to work on this one. It is $$$, but the alternative is to ship the pipe to JetHot and that would be even more money.

| If you ride with MX boots you might not notice it, but on the street I'm using Alpinestars SMX1 boots and I can really feel the heat when the air temps get above 70. | |

| I haven't noticed that much heat either.... i mean it get's hot, but not unbearable. I ride with mx boots on the trails and work style boots on the streets. | |

| I ordered a megabomb header and had it shipped all the way to OZ, only to find out it does not mate with a Yoshi pipe. I have a powerbomb on my earlier WRR and it fitted perfectly with the GYTR slip on. Not sure how to make it fit.. Bummer! The end of the megabomb is oversized for the yoshi.

Steve they have a sleeve you use to mate the stock header to the Q4 slip-on... i wonder if that would work?

| There's no sleeve for mating stock wr250x header to FmF Q4. The stock header slides into the Q4. No sleeve. It's my understanding that the FmF headers slide over the Q4, not into. That's your diameter difference. Stock goes into, aftermarket goes over. That's little help for those with FmF headers and Yoshi pipes though. I'll buy your megabomb header for $100 shipped. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| I think they are the same. IIRC Mark's X needed the sleeve as well for his Q4, and used the stock clamp as well. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |
