1800 mile road trip Oregon / Cali

strictly "road" tour, all through western oregon and all over northern california with some big bikes. no real story here, just that i flogged it like it owed me money and it never skipped a beat. seems like i averaged about 55ish mpg, that's loaded down with camp gear, an extra gallon on the back, and pretty much 70-75mph twisties all day. there were (a lot of) big hills with headwinds on the passes, and had to downshift to 4th a few times to maintain anything resembling passing power.

How'd the Safari tank work for you? How far could you go before needing a fuel stop?

safari worked fine. we'd usually fill up around 160 miles and i'd end up putting 3.1 or 3.2 gallons. i ran out once and had to use my extra gallon. not sure exact mileage, i have the speedohealer so my odo is a little off.
