| I have a whopping 75 miles on a new WRR. When I apply the front brake and push on the handlebars to compress the front forks, then release, then compress, then release, etc.... I hear and feel a slight clunk... like the brake is slightly loose or the brake pads are loose or the forks are loose or something???? I have looked and looked trying to see what might be moving just a little but cannot see anything. Any ideas? | |

| Mine does what you are describing. On mine it is the bobins for the 'floating' part of the brake disk. My original disk did this and my new rotor does too. Other WRs I've sat on did as well.
If that's all you're having happen then it's likely not a problem.

| Another thing you might want to check is the triple tree stem. Some bikes have come assembled with the head assembly loose. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| Its because of the front FLOATING disk | |

| Another possibility is the handlebar clamps are rocking on the top triple clamp. There is a 17mm nut underneath each - I torqued my nuts yesterday | |

| When I first felt the "cluck" feeling I suspected the steering stem and tightened it up a bit and the clucking felt the same, this was not the problem. When I started investigating what was causing it I found it to be the play in the shocks. Apparently the front shocks need some play to operate smoothly. So a little clunk feeling is normal. I went to the dealership and felt the same exact thing on another WRR and other dirt bikes.
I really feel the clunk when sitting on the bike and holding the front brake and pushing the bike back and forth. I narrowed the clunk feeling down to the clearance between the upper and lower parts of the front shocks by placing the bike up on a work stand to get the front wheel off the ground and grabbing the lower part of the shocks and moving them back and forth.
I found the floating caliper is not really contributing to the clunk feeling. The play in the floating caliper on the WRR is negligible, can't really feel it compared to the play in the shocks. Just my experience with this.....
