| I am wanting to pick up a full face w/ shield helmet for cooler weather riding, and I came across this deal on Ebay. Anyone have any knowledge of these helmets? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Motorcycle-Full-Face-Helmet-DOT-508-Matt-black-Large-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4cf0f66f89QQitemZ330460196745QQptZApparelQ5fMerchandise New & DOT approved...I wonder if it's a good helmet? | |

| As the price is attractive and all. I would be skeptical of it since : 1-No brand given. 2-cheap price. 3-I beleive you get what you pay for for the most part.
That being said. I don't think you have to spend $350.00 plus to have a good helmet. And any helhet is probably better than no helmet. I tend to like AGV, HJC for budget helmets. But then again I also ride naked at times on my HD, and some times with a non DOT brainbucket and some with a full face. Mostly depending on the season/weather. I ride the HD is a very nonagressive manner. I do not on my other bikes and always wear a decent helmet while I'm on them.

| You make good points. I guess it's one of those things, like many, that the buyer has to be the comfortable one with it.
I have stopped in a few shops and tried on a couple, I may just go with a little better model and rest easy with it.

| I'd never buy a helmet without trying it on as you don't know if it'll fit, be comfy etc etc. I wanted a new mx helmet, tried on helmets from these manufacturers... Bell moto8 Shift, One industries, Lazer, MSR, Airoh didn't try on Troy Lee or Arai cos of the cost finally got a Fox V2 to feel nice, with a snug fit. I'm sure the shop assistant thought i was taking the piss with the amount of helmets i tried on | |

| I have a Fox V2 and love it. Sadly tho the padding is compressed more now and it's not as snug as it used to be. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| My latest helmet is one of the new dualsport models and I love it. I think I paid around $125.00 for it. It isn't a top of the line and it was discounted at a locaal shop. Probably because of a newer model coming out. I noticed Dennis Kirk has them. But then again it's mail order. But will be getting several replacement faceshields for it from them.

| Rem: Anyone tested the helmet ? As in... * BIFF BOOM BANG *
Not me... But I try NOT to, and have been lucky enough NOT to test my helmets. :)
Styling looks good.... Venting looks great (Psuedo Arai RX7-RR series). I like the Shoei patterened shield replacement (I hate the Arai replacements).
There is an old addage: "Cheal head - Cheap helmet".
Having said that, it's a known fact that many manufacturers ( of many items including tires, snowboards etc etc) actually build other helmets using the same composite and processes.
If it a certified DOT rating you can't argue with that. Actual wear and replacement components may be an issue. ...but for $40 you can just discard and buy new !
I'm a helmet slut and they're all new and brand names. Do you need that to feel comfortable ? Probably not...
If I died with one on I'd at least never be able to say I should have had a better one and should ahve spent the money.
Will that extra money save your life ? Maybe.... Maybe not. Not all deaths occur from BFT to the head.
How lucky do you feel punk ? * spoken like Clint *
