Glenrock Motorsports in Glenrock, Wyoming

Wyoming is not only a state of vast and beautiful expanse but also hearty citizenry that not only help visitors in need but do so with a sincerely warm and welcome smile.

Having been afforded the opportunity to experience the true nature of both the Wyoming spirit and its hospitality during a run in with some of the states indigenous wildlife (the Pronghorn Antelope), “Welcome to Wyoming” was found not to be just a catch phrase but the standard that everyone no matter their walk in life should strive to emulate. While the Pronghorn may have got the best of me, the opportunity to meet a local WY resident who I believe is someone you should know was priceless.

John Moulton, owner of Glenrock Motorsports, Wyoming’s “Largest small town dealership”, does not consider himself just an off-road motorcycle enthusiast but more of a family man interested in servicing the needs of former, current and future customers. With both a “can do” and “do it right” attitude typical of Wyoming residents, you cannot do much better when it comes to servicing a motorcycle, ATV, small Ranch based tractors and even outdoor adventure activities.

Originally a resident of Oregon, John came to Wyoming to stake his claim and what began as a profession turned into a lifelong passion. As the original Parts and Service manager for the small town Yamaha dealership in 1997, he is now the owner of this currently expanding concern. Something we do not see a lot of given the current economic environment.

Glenrock Motorsports

A timeline of sorts…
  • Originally a gun store and to this day, still sells special order Guns and Ammo
  • Personal Camping Gear
  • Rancher support - Tack and Feed shop
  • 1997 – Yamaha franchise added
  • 2003 – Suzuki franchise added
  • 2010 – TYM Tractor franchise added

A small but growing concern

The Tack and Feed portion of the store provides an outlet for employees to not only visit rancher events and rodeo’s but also become aware of the needs of the Rancher community. With most of the Motorsports business servicing ranchers, Tack and Feed is a natural extension.

Regarding the Motorsports, about 80% of Glenrock Motorsports business is ATV sales with the remaining, a mix of On and Off road bikes of all category’s.

Assuring Customer Satisfaction

Just like the sales of ATV’s and motorcycles at dealerships across the country, Glenrock has not escaped the business realities handed out by the recession of 2008. Service however has picked up and rightfully so. With four full time employees (2 in service and 2 in sales), Glenrock Motorsports is known for excellent service with its reputation providing for a new and continuing repeat customer base.

Both Yamaha and Suzuki have recognized Glenrock Motorsports as an outstanding addition to their network with a coveted Yamaha Gold Certification accolade and more recently, the Suzuki “Cutting Edge Award”. The Suzuki award was earned by having the highest CSI score in the district. When we speak of a district out west, it incorporates 7 states and over 130 dealerships! Only 17 dealerships are bestowed this honor in any given year so it should be obvious that Glenrock Motorsports offers something extra when servicing the needs of its customers.

“You have all the time in the world to fix it right the first time,” said John during a recent conversation. “If you keep the customer informed with an honest up front estimate and inform them of any delays, you have provided a service above and beyond.”
