| I'm going to pull my shock down for service. It doesn't need it, I just want to look inside. Anyone have any tips for valving, bleeding, and nitrogen refilling? While I'm in there, I'm going to fit 1" lowering spacer. | |

| Sorry bro, I didn't do mine. Had the whole suspension overhauled by a suspension specialist. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| We don't even do shocks in our shop, we send them away to a specialist. Forks are easy enough, but shocks is a whole different story if you dont have all the correct tools and knowledge. I haven't had one customer say the money wasn't worth it.

| Some people on various forums have reported success in diy rebuilds, but dealing with the high pressure nitrogen fill keeps me away. I'm tearing the whole rear suspension apart for inspection & service prior to winter vacation, and will be sending the shock out for a professional rebuild. | |

| It turned out really well. The original shock oil didn't look to good, and the shock was full of air. I installed a lowering spacer, while I was in there. This will lower the rear 2". I have a vacuum/pressure shock bleeder that I use to fill the shock with fresh oil, and bleed all the air out. I then refilled the nitrogen. I have a nitrogen tank with regulator, and the special fill needle needed for the self sealing bladder. | |

| Good to hear it turned out well. Sounds like you have everything you need right there handy. We'd worried about the nitrogen refill on my husband's shock, but the local shop didn't charge us a penny.

| I'm going to open it up again, and play with the valving. | |
