Well I thought it was time to finally register and say hello, and thank you to the forum. We recently purchased a new 2008 WR250R from a dealer that still had it on the floor for my S/O Meredith. It is her second bike, replacing her much loved DR350, "Serenity", seen here in Baja:
She was sad to be replacing her first bike, but she loves the new WR! The weather has not been real great here yet, but she has put on 9 whole miles in our industrial park practicing stops and starts. Even fully lowered the WR is taller than the DR was.
Before lowering:
After lowering link, adjusting the stock height adjuster, and lowering the forks:
So far we have done all the lowering possible to get her on the ball of one foot at a stop, Acerbis handguards, order the block off plate to get rid of some emissions junk, and done away with the inner tubes with Nuetech Tubliss kits. Coming soon will be skid plate, small top loading aluminum panniers, and we will be having the seat fixed by our friends at Cycle Solutions. We have been going back and forth on what to do about the fuel tank, and it looks like we will wait for IMS to get the big tank into production. Thank you to the members here who pushed them to make it! Thanks also for all the info and tips we have found here so far, we have gotten a lot of help and ideas from many of the threads here.
