The group that was out doing this job are local residents. This occurred on a rural road, so it wasn't in city limits. The group who was out that day is made up of volunteers and the local seniors, overseen by a director; (who I have yet to hear from) she has been contacted by the RCMP, along with my husband, who went right to her door. She told the RCMP that she would look into the groups that she is responsible for, and that there was one problem group out of the 6 she oversees, and possibly this man is in that group; she said didn't know, and said he might even be a volunteer who was helping that day and isn't part of the actual group. When my husband approached her, she acted like she had no idea what he was talking about until he mentioned the RCMP...then she stuttered and apparently denied saying what she did the the OIC. SHe got pissed off and had called the OIC back and freaked on him for giving my husband her information...which he didn't...we found it in the phone book, the silly bitch. I have already been in touch with the local newspaper and talked to the head reporter, gave him a copy of the bulletin that I have circulating around, and he seems very interested. All can do is keep pushing forward.

Sorry Jager, when I meant OIC it meant officer in charge, as in the dude who was assigned to this incident. He's a general duty Cpl.

Yeah, her and Killpatrick were BOTH sweating freakin' bullets, and playing the ignorant card

Ah... your husband... he who is seldom mentioned here... I hope he is a rather large, ugly man. The right kind of that sort can smile in a way that is incredibly intimidating. Nothing like showing them your war face, as my wife says on the very rare instances when I start losing my temper and the nasty ol' paratrooper attitude starts coming back to life. Incredible the kind of results that can get - without doing a single thing remotely close to being illegal.

So is this dizzy bitch a director as in, elected director in your regional district. Or just director of some local volunteer society. I can cut her a little slack if she's just somebody who was willing to fill the breach - I do a lot of volunteer work, and sad to say we have to be happy with even the losers if they aren't obviously dangerous or whatever. Volunteerism seems to be dying out these days.

There must be a local women's advocacy group that just KNOW that all men are evil and in league with Satan, and who would love to hear about yet another instance of man's inhumanity towards women and how the local police are supporting the bad guy because he is, after all, a man! Like I said, political correctness is a sign of arrested mental development. But if it works for you... what the hell... another arrow in the quiver.

Well, he isn't the OIC then; he's the investigating member. He might be the watch NCO for that watch if the detachment is small enough, as well, but that doesn't make him the detachment commander.

No, he's just the investigating dude. As for my other half, he's got the reputation around here to be rather...how would I say it...anal? I've already heard from one person who sad that 'this old prick picked the wrong person to try to kill, because her husband is a wolverine!' poser2 Not many will go toe to toe with him because he's relentless...mind you having a hot temper isn't always a good thing, but nobody screws with him. As for the old girl, she is an elected director in the Senior's Association for this whole area. She was delegated to be in charge of road cleanup. We do have quite a few volunteers in the area, but the seniors around here don't like change, they don't like young people, and they don't like motorcycles (most of them, anyway).

As for the WAG, I'll check around and see if we have one here. The officer never did return my message last night when he came on shift to call me back, so I guess I'll call this morning and see what's going on. It kinda sucks I have to wait for him to be on to find out what's going on. dunno

Maybe it's time to get that concealed weapons permit and start packing when you ride.

This is Canada and unfortunately we don't have that option.

SheWolf: Suggestion for you. Never leave your helmet locked to the bike. Practically the first thing I did was remove that silly helmet lock as it will never get used. Helmets are expensive and too many people think it is funny to screw with your safety gear. I can't count the number of times I have had crap dropped in my helmet when I left it on the bike. I know it is inconvenient to carry it around but it is protecting your most vital asset and as such is worth protecting in return.

PS Remind me never to get you pissed at me. hide

wink I'm pretty laid back, but yeah I'm not too keen on that kinda crap. Still haven't heard back from the Cst. who is looking into this; I've left him a couple of voice mails as he's been on night shift to give him a name of someone who more than likely knows who this person is, but she isn't talking. Suspect

So, when the police won't do their job and help us in situations like this, in Canada who do we turn to?
It's an odd situation. I understand that in the U.S. it is up to the 'victim' to press charges, but in Canada it is the Crown. Not sure where to go if they keep just ignoring you. I suppose the press. In that case you're lucky to be female. It may offset the 'bad biker' stereotype.

Sudden imagry of a bad biker on a 250cc. Add some leathers, chains etc. poser2

Got another cop on it too now. He's the Rez cop for the area, but he said even tho his jurisdiction is the just for the Rez he'd come across and do some digging. Gotta love my job where I know a few people in higher places who are ready to help out. Hmmm...I do have leather pants, jacket, fingerless gloves and a 15 foot T1 transport chain I could carry on the tail rack... deal

Actually, yes...on another forum I had cross posted this on, and due to an unnecessary complaint, it was removed, which is really rather unfortunate because it was there to warn others who travel that stretch of road on their motorcycles of this individual who needs to be dealt with. dddog The whole idea of this was to bring to light that we, as motorcyclists, need to always be wary of everything around you when you are out there riding, not somewhere to throw threats and other gobbledeegook.

I'm not letting this one go. The RCMP, sadly, haven't been getting back to me even after leaving detailed voicemails in regards to some leads. It would be nice to actually get a little bit of feedback on this, but there's not much I can do and getting anal with them isn't going to help this any. So I will fight alone if need be, and find what I need to on my own and maybe trip across something useful.

I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you. Obviously I can't speak for the great white north, but here in CA (the land of fruits and nuts) it is generally common knowledge to never mess with a biker- lest you do so at your own risk.

Perhaps I have an advantage as I'm a bit larger than the average bear, but miss me or not, if someone swings like that at me, it will be the last time they would do so. I'm not being all rooster chested and tough guy, but it is hard enough with cell phone using, Prius driving, mentally retarded lab rats behind the wheel to contend with, and when some bottom feeder takes out whatever his personal frustration for the day is on someone who is not being a squid, well...

I'm 2 wheels only, so I take riding VERY seriously with ATGATT and the like. I've also grown up a bit and stopped riding aggressively on public roads. So when someone out and out threatens me, it goes badly for them.

All in all, you are engaging in the right activities and doing the right thing. I truly hope this person can be brought to a more civil form of justice than what I would have given them.

Like I said, had there been fewer looki loos, I would have simply headbutted the asshole. But there were eight other people there, I can take on 3 or 4 with out a problem, but eight... yeah that's pushing it... So I did the next best thing and got the fudge out of there as quickly as I could.

Hind sight, I should have stood my ground more and gotten his info... But yeah... hind sight is 20/20 as they say.

What really pisses me off, is that when shewolf's husband and I went around handing out letters we'd written up, questioning the leaders of the offending group, we were told that as soon as they knew who it was (like they didn't already) he'd be off the clean up crews perminantly. But just this week Shewolf got a msg from a fellow biker who had run into the same (or someone fitting his almost perfect description) guy. Meaning we were lied to and the assholes running the group are doing about as much as the local RCMP, which is about 10% less than piss bugger all.

Well I lucked out. I went to a local community meeting last night to give my rendition of the event and the president of this particular association has a son who was there, who is a lawyer; he's also a rider....if I can't get the guy I can go after the association apparently that was coordinating this pick-up crew. thumb I'll give the RCMP a couple more days to follow up on the leads I gave them, then I will be going to the next step, which will involve all the old fogeys in the area. Suspect

Good luck SheWolf. I know it's a PIA. You may even expend more time, energy, frustration, and money than anything that may come out of it. But, in the end it should be worth it. With all the times when some A$$ decides that we have no rights just because we are on motorcycles and we can't do anything about it, we need to pursue the ones that we can as far as we can.

Let us know if there's any help we can give.
