Forget the fact it was 100 degrees on that day, a 500cc on that track, in that/those conditions going that fast is insane.
You couldn't see the bottom of the downhill from the top and there were two blind fall-away jumps in the middle. Even on a 125 you were doing 50-60MPH by mid-hill, then you were in the air. About then you had to try to slow down (where Leichen fell) because there was a buttonhook left-hander at the bottom. These guys were going at least 20MPH faster than that (try slowing an otherwise brakeless Maico 490 down there ? Good luck ! ) Sick...
The ground was like cement. I don't recall it being watered. ...and dusty ! OMG !

The only time that track was "Fun" to ride was right after it was disc'd.
