Fly and ride Sacramento to Denver area Route advice

I'm flying out to Sacramento on 9/26 and picking up a WR250r. I'll be putting on some racks etc, and riding back. I'm hoping on making it home in 4 and a half days. I don't mind 12 hour days of riding. What do yous guys think of this route.









I'll be finishing up by going through Salida to Broomfield.

If the weather is crap I'll blow off going from Ouray to Lake City, but it looks like it may cooperate.

The WR does have the IMS 4.5 gallon tank.

Looks great, have fun! I rode the same route through Utah and Nevada a couple of years ago on my Harley. I had a breakdown on Hwy 50 in Nevada, and was in the ditch with all my tools out. Probably 30 Harley riders went by and not a one of them stopped. A trio of BMWs were the only ones who stopped to see if we needed help.
I expected it to be hot in Nevada in June, but I just about froze my ass off. We woke up in Ely to 37°! I suppose you're used to temps like that, though.

You did the Burr trail in Utah on a Harley!? Thats pretty cool. Thanks for the well wishes. I'm pretty excited. This will be my second long ride in 2 months. The other one was 1200 mostly dirt miles in Colorado.

The only part of your trip I'm familiar is Sacramento - Tahoe and that will be a fun ride! You can look at the Cal Tans web site , http://www.dot.ca.gov/ , to see road conditions and freeway web cams.
