My 1976 XT500.
I had the bike for years and never had a single issue.
It was one of the first ones ever built (frame number 201) was totally original and stock, apart from the back muffler. Never did find an orginal one.
Note the unique shape of the exhaust, it goes down and then up again, which is a indication that it was a very early production bike.

I miss the old girl even though I didn't ride her much. Kick starting a 500 is somewhat tricky and she could have her days so to say. I never had to worry about someone taking off with her because I was the only one able to start her. Two kicks at the most, more and she would flood and you could basically walk away. Worked for me. Usually needed only one.
