Fork Guards

I was checking tire pressures the other day and found that the white fork Guards and found them to be wearing into the top fork tube. Above the fork seal there is a wire that should keep the fork guard from cutting into the fork tube. One side the wire was worn and just wearing into the fork tube. The other side just had wear on the wire.

I heated up the fork guard with a heat gun and opened them up so they would not wear the fork tube. I am not sure if it could be a problem for other bikes but it should be looked at. The giveaway for me was the dark area on the inside of the fork guard from dirt being rubbed in.
