How? Must I pull it apart or can I gently spray water in this area if I cover the airbox?

You could try toothbrush with compressed air. I have never liked water and electrical myself but it may work.

Take it all apart and hand clean with silicone spray, S-100 Corrosion Protectant, or the like, and dielectric grease all the electrical connectors when you reassemble. That's what wintertime is for !

Spray it down with armor-all (or similar product). Let it sit a bit, then blow it out with compressed air or wipe with rags. (etc.)
If it's a dirt bike, it won't stay clean very long.
