what is quieter? Leo Vince x3 or FMF Q4?

Trying to pick the quietest aftermarket can, and I can't tell from YouTube which one is actually quieter. Thoughts?

I might just go FMF cause I plan to use a megabomb, but curious to hear what people think...

The consensus tends to be that the Q4 is the quietest aftermarket exhaust you can buy.

However, I've never heard the two side by side so I can't tell you either way for sure.

I can only spread rumors.

The X3 may be quieter. One of the shops that does the KLR 685 conversion claims that the two pipes offer similar flow but the X3 is quieter so that is what they recommend. Different bike I know.

I think I'm looking to trade my new Yoshimura RS2 for a Q4.
The Yosh is much prettier but my old ears want silence...

Sorry to bring up such an old thread, but with 5.5 more years of history and experience, I figure someone might know the answer to this one by now. I can't find a wr250r/x comparison by googleing, only the KLR650 references mentioned. Now the Q4 can I think, will be the same for all models, but I don't know for sure that the same can be said for the X3 can.

Just tested back-to-back on our own 05 KLR650…We’ve been recommending the FMF Q4 exhaust to our KLR customers for a couple of years, but we recently got a chance to test the Leo Vince X-3 Enduro Slip-On. Our testing found that the X-3 matched the FMF Q4 on horsepower. However, the advantage went to Leo Vince for its noticeably quieter sound"

and "Dave" on the KLR forum who has both said in 2015 "I like my Q4 and honestly expected to be telling everyone that it was better than the X3....but I like to think that I'm fair and the X3 offers similar performance to the Q4 with much less sound...which is a good thing. ...add in the repacking issue (though I agree that it's a relatively minor issue for me) and it becomes the clear winner despite some annoyances with the install.

...at the end of the day, if I buy a 3rd KLR tomorrow, I'll be ordering another X3 which says it all for me, I guess."

I'd like to know more on this as well. Also would like to know if the new Hex Q4 is really any quieter than the old round version.

Planning to do pipe and programmer on both mine and my wife's WRs this fall...
