This is all interesting, and worth keeping in mind during the next oil change (which will be very soon so that 1. I can make sure I flushed all the fuel out and 2. I can get the oil level correct), but I'd also like to hear from those of you who do measure your oil, how much do you put in with a filter change?

Looking at HighFive's tutorial (http://www.wrrdualsport.com/tech-guide/maintenance/93-oilchange), he only measures out 1300cc for a full change with filter. Which is part of the reason I was wondering if the manual was incorrect. Anybody put 1400cc in and get a correct reading in the sight glass?

Well high-five also says prob better to be slightly under-filled than overfilled. Also says not to be too anal about it. I guess I missed the discrepancy from the owner's manual, I assumed what was stamped on the engine was total capacity so I always put in 1300 and the oil level is always in the middle of the little glass window (depending on how much I lean the bike Very happy ).

Yo emoose, did you ever figure out what the problem was?! Did it end up being gas in the oil, coming from the engine?

I am confused. Please explain just how enough fuel is leaking past the head gasket to cause the oil level to rise.

Leak past the rings, more likely, but much less likely in a fuel-injected engine, surely.
