T63 Users.....what size?

I want to order some Michelin T63 tires. I've read that the stock Bridestone rear is closer to a 100/80/18 in size than the 120/80/18 that's actually marked on the side. True? I want to stay with a similar size to the stock Bridgestone, so would this be a 100/80 or the 120/80?

Some tires like the Dunlop 606s look huge in a 120/80 but unfortunately I don't have a Michelin to look at before I order.

I went with a 90/90 front and a 130/80 rear.... Happy I did. Hooks up fine in the dirt and works great on the road...

Thanks Zestymac.....I went with the D606s instead. Does the 130/80 seem significantly larger than the Trailwing stocker?

It doesn't. The Michelins seem to run smaller in size than some others. I also went with the T63's because they are reasonably light for their size.

I've been in a tire swapping nightmware lately.

Originally I put the T63s on the bike and it handled fairly good, but I thought I'd try something even more aggressive.
Well since I swapped out to "bigger and better" knobs, the bike just wiggles and pushes to the point of making me lack any confidence in the front end.
The front feels like it wants to wash out without notice, twitchy and hard to steer as well.

I'm thinking the larger rears, even though in factory sizes might just be the culprit.

1st set T63s 120/80-18 and 80/90-21


2nd Set Metzeler Unicross All-Terrain Rear Tire 120/90-18 and 90/90-21 ( rear is way tall!)


Current set Dunlop D606’s. 120/90-18 and 90/90-21 - The rear D606 is clearly about an inch shorter than the Unicross rear.
Still, the front end feels vague at best.


I'm reckoning a smaller than spec size rear on these little bikes is essential to maintaining the geometry...

I went with a 120/80 in the rear. It is on the smaller scale for a 120/80 tire. I ordered online and then took it into the local moto shop for install. The shop guy showed me the 130/80 he runs and recommended that size "next time".

Can't really say too much about the T63's yet, just got them on a few hundred miles ago. Seem to be good to go so far. They replaced a set of Kenda K270's. The front K270 wasn't very good off road in the Sierra Nevada's.

..I don't know, even with the proper size Dunlop D606 120 front/ 90 rear I feel they are too big/tall for the bike.
It makes the bike very hard to turn, less flickable. Thinking of going back to the T63's or maybe some Mefos's...
