Rode my buddy's DRZ yesterday. I must admit I loved the power the thing makes! Was hard to keep the front wheel down. Sounded pretty awesome, too. Did not like the nostalgic look, and the higher seat though. Now that got me thinking. Sell the WR and go for a DRZ? I can get a DRZ for a grand less than what I paid for my WR.

Nope. Gutted pipe, bigger jets, swiss cheese airbox...

the S and SM are heavier... I'm considering getting an E model when the wife gets her license. TT guys swear up and down that the E is still a low maintenance machine and it's quite a bit lighter.

Ya...but the E is a different beast...compared to the R2...dualsport wise.
definely a step up from the XR...another nice bike.
But neither can asssume the personality of the WR.
There are newer 350(dirt dedicated) dualsports from across the atlantic.
If your willing to go more dirt than the R2, sure there's a few....
The R2 handles the road as well as any competition...and handles the dirt as well.
I personaly need to deal with them both...and dont see a replacement.
Though a dedicated street or dirt bike, must be nice too.

Don't get me wrong......I loved my DRZ. But it vibrated the hell out of me and begged for an extra gear.....I'll stick with my WR. Very happy
