| Check your oil level and your battery voltage....
Some folks have said that the temp light comes on when the battery is about dead.
If you're battery is good then likely you actually were overheating... and the no start suggests that it was due to low oil pressure.

| I had a defective battery that started to fuck up like yours did. Had to get it replaced. | |

Unless he has a pretty significant oil leak I'm leaning towards the battery as well.

| The only thing I changed on my bike was the exhaust. One thing tho is that when I took th exup out I did not do anything aboute the cord that was attached to a little motor thing. Anyways so that pice got chewd up by the chain but my bike was running fine.so I wouldn't see that being a problem. The battery was fine. | |

Does the motor turn over with the starter but won't fire? Or does it not even spin? If it won't spin, pull the sprocket cover and try to turn the motor over with a wrench while in gear. ( back end will need to be in the air) We're still missing a lot of info to pin down if this is electrical or mechanical.

| My battery did that and then acted fine after it. It was a gradual problem that became more and more apparent - it wasn't binary. Error messages started to get displayed - took it into the shop and they charged it and said it was fine. Got it back and it died soon after so they replaced it and it's been smooth sailing since. | |

| check the diagnostics mode, past and current faults are stored (#61) it may give you an idea of what's up...also gives you an idea about your sensors (air temp, coolant temp, batt voltage, throttle position,...) | |

| Were you able to fix your bike? I ask because my bike just quit on me under similar circumstances. I have it in the garage charging.
Thanks | |

| Carrying a pistol may not be such a bad idea either. | |

| I freakin hate batteries, they're fragile and need a proper load test to diagnose well.
What's the history of your bike?....with a more accurate complaint, you should get a more accurate answer...
