PostSubject: Happy-Trail SU racks   Happy-Trail SU racks EmptyThu Jul 23, 2009 11:19 pm

Hey ....

I had a set of Happy-Trail SU racks on my DR that were very stout and very versatile, they could be used for softbags support, hard bags such as the pelican type case ... small Givi E21's ... Happy-Trail Alum cases, strapping attachment points for bags across the back of the seat, etc ....

Since I'm on the hunt for a WR I thought I would call Happy-Trail since I didn't see anything posted on their WEB site yet. Talked to Kurt Simpson - the general Manager, he sent me the attached pictures ... they also have a top rack.

Will be on their WEB site soon. I had a few more questions, once he responds I will post.

BTW - I have no affiliation with Happy-Trail ... I'm just a happy customer!

Larry

Finally.

I see that they retained the helmet lock, but did they move it or add a tab or something there? I'm wondering if this will work with the GYTR rear rack.

Looking good. I wonder how much that sucker is gonna weigh? Like many racks in the market it appears to be tougher than the part of the bike it is attached to.

Remember it's only a baby motorcycle. Not fully grown yet.

From the back, it look like the rack isn't centered on the bike. Suspect

It looks offset for the muffler on the right side. Moving the left out would balance it visually, but would make the racks wider.

Wow I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. Deal breaker for me.

Those things ROCK! for a bit over 8 bills you have a full on ADV setup. Let me put this in perspective; for a set of Jesse's that are somewhat ubiquitous on the big bikes, they are $1800+ and not that much bigger. Put a screen on the little WR and a throttle lock and you have a very viable RTW machine.
