Err_1 code on 250X

The bike has been in my garage for storage since the begining of november and I wanted to see if it could start easily. Put back the battery in, turned the key and got a temp warning light with Err_1 code. No injectors and the battery is not bad. I think this code means no signals from the ECU. Any ideas ?

Have you looked at the connection to the ECU? Maybe it came loose?

both answers are pilfered from the 'net search of the error code 1:

ER-1 is "ECU internal malfunction" like another poster said, maybe just a loose connection

another reply from the same error code:

"But it turns out that it was a blown fuse"

Finally had some time to check this out in a warm place ! I don't have the chance of having a heated garage so I won't mess around the bike when it's -25 -30°F

After checking the connectors and harness, It turned out to be a blown IGNITION FUSE so it was not a big deal ! It felt so good to hear her roaring once again She started like a charm after 4 months of storage... winter is long !!

Oh well... I was at the gas station at 3 miles from my home and the bike would not restart. Same thing happened another time. Anyone else had ignition fuse issue ? The only mods I have on the bike is a 2 brothers exhaust and the removal of the exup valve. Fuel pump issue maybe ? I hear nothing when ignition key is on....

It's rare that a 2009 has fuel pump issues. That was more of an issue with 2008's.

Sounds more like an electrical issue.

Maybe, I will bring the bike to the dealer to check this out. I know some guy with a 2009 X and he had fuel pump issues as well...

Are you still getting error code 1?

That's an ECU issue.

Yes. This code comes up after the fuse blew

Fixed how? What was the issue? How'd you fix it?????

The ignition wire was in contact with the zeta wire at some place. The previous owner put both wires together in black rubber tape. The dealer put a connector between both ends with a little plastic tube around it to prevent from water and vibration I guess. The issue was a grounded ignition wire.
