Okay so i am going to converting my 2011 wr250r into a supermoto. i was wondering what is a good gearing for street use. i do mainly city but i also do freeway. i have stock right now and i don't even know what the gearing on that is.i need your input. i dont want to be messing with the odometer much. im trying to keep it as simple as possible. Changing the gearing will change the speedometer accuracy because the speedometer pickup is off a transmission shaft.

A WR-250X comes with 13/42 sprockets.
Myself, I feel that's too tall for sport riding, and I believe it's only good for making the engine loaf along at a lower RPM while cruising from point A to point B.
When I had my 2008 WR-250X, I used 13/49 sprockets.
This worked very well for what I wanted to do with the bike.

13/48 here.....rocks.

Tops out at 85 mph in the right conditions.

How much "freeway" do you ride?
