Anyone heard from Lynn lately? With all the fires up there I wonder if she is just busy working or had to bug out of her house. Hope all is well with her.

I've been wondering the same.

Maybe she just found a really, really good mud patch to play in for a while. wink
Let's hope.

LOL
Not a mud puddle in sight around these parts, Dont even remember what rain look's like, 10mm in the last 3 months
We talked on the phone a couple days ago, still on evac alert, but not out of the house
the fire seems to go nut's every once in a while and it's up to over 8500 hectares, probably no more than 3km from the subdivision she lives in so plenty to worry about, the smoke is absolutely gross right now, it just flat out gag's you and sometimes less than 1km of visibility

It's literally an hour away from burning up 10's of millions of $ in lakefront houses

As much as we like summer in the Okanagan, we're all praying for a big juicy rainstorm

She's at home right now, still on evac. Some... questionable... things have happened to her lately, things that have pushed her to near breaking point, I wont go into great detail here for her privacy's sake. She's safe right now, working hard to keep the forest safe. We're all working hard to keep her with a plentiful supply of support should she need it ^^

If anyone wants the story I think she'd be ok with you PMing me for it.

Hey guys. I'm working lots and don't get much time on here. GAHHHH Fires have been popping up all over and they send me wherever, whenever. It will be nice when I actually get my full days off, because I really need it. The OT is good, but when one works 17 hours and then turns around and works another 14, with less than 5 hours of sleep...ugh. There has been a lot of stupid crap. Still working tho, which is good. Just have to avoid getting hit by flying chunks of burning tree and rocks. I might get a reprieve here at the end of the month for 4 days or so. *hugs to Red* Again many thanks for keeping my toys safe. I just hope this damned thing burns itself out sooner than later. I hate having to sleep with one eye open at night. Rob, thanks for watching my back. *super hug* With all the shit that's taken place, you've been a real anchor. When all this is over I think we need to get Red and go for a good ride. Preferably where there isn't anything burning. Now I am off to work again. Take care guys, I miss chattin with you. cry

Wow, that first picture must have been taken from the Rise
For perspective that is a 5400ft mountain and the pic was from 7 or 8km away
Awesome!!

No, actually that is Sugar Lake. Our second base is there to cover the southeast end of the zone.

Update on Lynn...

She went into the hospital earlier for pains in her chest, she couldn't breath deeply and was getting short of breath. Turns out she has pneumothorax and pneuminits (sp?)

Basically she's got bubbles on the outside of her lungs inside the protective membrane, and her aveoli have been scarred by suspected smoke inhalation. Right now she's at her parent's resting but it is not going well, she's in near constant pain, hard breathing, short breathing. She has morphine pills but can't really take them because they make her feel shitty.

She needs all the support this forum can muster.

We're all pulling for ya sis *hugs* I hope I haven't overstepped my boundaries by posting this.
