There is a dealer sort of near me (nothing is near by in WY) that has a left over never sold 2012 WR250R. They are advertising the price at $5999 and I think that is due to a Yamaha rebate of $600 being offered on last years models right now. I've seen adds for nicely equipped (bark busters, skid plate, radiator guards) clean low milage bikes going for about $4500-$5000 and most are under 1000 miles and about 2 years old. That is something I would buy but now I can't find one just this brand new one.

Do you think I can talk the dealer down any since it is a left over model?

Too much IMO. He's going to have a hard time moving the bike and he knows it. I think he would take less. If not, you can probably find an older leftover elsewhere and they haven't changed so its just a number. There are a lot floating around. They were hard to move because they cost more than most people are willing to spend on a 250. Used bikes aren't a bad idea either. These bikes are ROCK solid, so if it hasn't been crashed and they changed the oil (or didn't put many miles on it) there really isn't much else to mess up. IMO, a bike with less than 5k on it would probably still be fine even if they had never changed the oil lol.

On that note, I gave 6k for my leftover X, which costs more as a base and mine came with pipe, programmer, and flapper mod. On the paperwork they calculated that they sold me the bike for around 5200 with the rest being taxes, fees, and price of the parts.

Thanks for the pricing info...I have been searching for used bikes and I already have one at home for my woman. We found a 2008 that had been lowered and only had 3200 miles on it, I think we paid about $4400 for it. It's been problem free and I like the feel of it (minus the lowering kit).

I know the Honda is much cheaper but it doesn't even compare to what you get with the WR. I have an older XT350 but I would like to upgrade to the WR250R after riding one...huge difference.

Thanks again...that gives me a target to shoot for. thumb
