| Mine comes on but only when it runs up near 200. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I had mine come on for the first time yesterday. I've had my WRR since October. I think it was due to the really tight single track I was running...stalling constantly...hehe | |

| yeah interesting? i have a Q4 and fmf progm, i know shewolf you have a Q4, maybe it just lets out all the heat? i have 48 rear and 13 front gearing so i am in the revs. the bike runs fine, just checking out what people are experiencing. | |

| Doesn't make sense that your engine would run cooler Test the fan in DIAG mode
My fan only comes on when I slow down, like off road trails etc it comes on Immediately On the pavement not so much Never changed with the exhaust and PCIII

If the programmer was used to richen the fuel mixture, the bike will run cooler.

kind of seems like that, because i have checked and my friend checked the wires, fuse, programmer connections, like i said the bikes runs better than ever, interesting though?

| I haven't heard my fan since installing the FMF programmer and removing the black plastic duct behind the radiator. :) | |

| That black plastic deflector is a PITA if you as me. Get rid of it. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

If the programmer was used to richen the fuel mixture, the bike will run cooler. Not really If your bike is near stoich and run normal loads there is very little difference The reason an engine gets hot due to lean condition is detonation (shock wave) breaks the thermal barrier between the flame front and the metal components of the engine, then the flame literally comes in contact with the piston and head Abnormal combustion is the cause of high engine temps, not slightly lean condition If the programmer makes a normal running engine run cooler, it's Major rich

| I noticed the same thing, after installing my PCV the fan runs alot less. Given the fact that it runs alot better now and the fan runs less Im gonna have to assume its pretty lean stock. | |

| It is pretty lean stock. That's why it's not a good idea to run an A/M pipe without some kind of fuel programmer in. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

Get down to 12.8 or so to 1. If you run leaner on a programmer you wasted your money.

| yeah, still always wondering about the fan, trying to figure it out still?
does any one get any spill over of coolant out the reserve hose? the reserve is filled correctly, i just get very tiny bit when im really climbing or working it beyond.
wounding if anything relates back to the fan or the whole change over of fmf programmer and pipe?

| I have full fmf setup including programmer,12/48 gearing, removed radiator plastics for Flatlland guard, and my fan does come on pretty regularly if I'm running single track for awhile at a time. It never comes on while road riding but that's clearly because of the increased airflow. I would think yours would come on now and then at least if your riding tight stuff. | |

| No coolant squirting for me on any of my technical rides. I've got Water Wetter in mine as an added precaution. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| If you removed the restrictive plastic cover behind the radiator near the fan, but forgot you did it, remember that it is also contributing to the bike running cooler since you increased the heat dissipation capability | |

| yeah very interesting! yes every thing is off of the fan and i do have a flatland guard on there, ummmm, i haven't run any slow single track lately, mostly alot of climbing through rocks and fast technical it just seems that it would in it self give me a little fan, maybe not? for the the spill over from the res tube it seems like when i go up in elevation fast (100 to 4000ft) i get it, but that doesn't seem like it would do that ? still have to trouble shoot it and might have to brake it all down to trace it, but maybe im chasing a ghost. thanks for the come back on this and we will find deal. on the programmer the settings are at, 3-5-0.5-8-4-4 and that is with 13 front and 48 rear with maxxis desert IT tires. | |

If it's on, you'll hear it. I went through a particularly tight, technical section of trail when I was riding at Sugar Creek a few weeks ago (before my mods) and it came on several different times.
