I was just doing my 3rd oil change @ 700 miles and noticed something weird. This is my first motorcycle and its a new wr250r I just got a month ago. I used a cheap torque wrench (harbor freight) and I am afraid I have over torqued it like a newb. The drain threads looked good except on one side the threads are missing, creating a "V" shape. I feel this is a piece that broke off due to over tightening but also it just seems strange it would have made a perfect "V" so I am hoping this is normal and comes from Yamaha like this. Anybody know for sure?

This is definitely not something that could have happened from over-tightening; given that you got the bike new I would assume it was built like that, but I have never looked at mine to confirm.

BTW, the Harbor Freight torque wrenches are not that bad: they are consistent when they are accurate, the problem is that not all of them are accurate; just measure yours to make sure it is.
