Subject: Fayetteville GA to Cheaha Mountain AL DS ride. Mon Feb 03, 2014 8:41 pm
Well a small group of us made a decision to try and to DS ride out to Cheaha Mountain from the Southside of Atlanta on Sunday. While we ran out of daylight and never did make it all the way to Cheaha Mountain we still had a great day of Adventure and Riding!
We ended up with four of us riding. Myself and Dan (Bluelightning) were on our trusty WR250R's and our standard crazy friend Tom was on his TE610. My GF Cheryl made a last minute decision to join us on her Super Sherpa 250 with the plan being to meet us at a gas stop in Franklin, GA.
Getting the WRR ready the night before and added some Bling courtesy of my friend Bryce's wife (she runs a sign shop):
Started out at Dan's and little did he know when this photo was taken that he was soon to find his missing garage door remote:
The ride this morning was adventurous because of the mist that keep everything shrouded so you were never quite certain what the road was like. A few miles after leaving Dan's, Tom thought the road was a bit too squirmy and pulled over to have a look.. flat front tire. Some one must have called the cops about a motorcyclist in distress since one showed up. We waved and he laughed..
We sent Cheryl a message to let her know that we were outside of Franklin on 100 and it would be awhile before we met her in town. She decided to ride out and join the tire changing party. I think this is about the time that Dan found his missing garage door remote in one of his bags as he was looking for some tools.
The roads were just muddy enough to make for some interesting riding:
Breaktime:
It took us awhile but we made it to Lineville and had lunch and decided to cut the ride a bit short. So we went over to Turkey Heaven road and started to make our way back. Dan decided to route us back a different way which allow Tom to go swimming with his Husky here:
