No spark arrester,no problem???

I bought a used 2014 wr250r and the spark arrester is missing. Do I need to buy one? The rear fender is getting a little brown spot on it from the exhaust.

Dipshit previous owners. The part is expensive. Graves makes a replacement that is pretty and cost about the same. If you ride in the woods, the National Forest Service sometimes checks.

If the pipe is still inside, go to your dollar store and buy a stainless screen for your sink, the finer the mesh the better, bend it over the pipe and use a stainless hose clamp to hold in place, may cost about $5 bucks total. cheers

Thanks guys, a new arrester costs $192. The dumass who owned it also dumped it on the street and every piece of plastic has scuffing on it but I bought it for $1000 less than an average used one.

If it was mine I would be making a turn down that looks kinda like the stock one to keep the exhaust off the fender.

We don't need spark arresters in Canada so I don't have to worry about that part of it.
