WR250R versus Suzuki Empty
PostSubject: WR250R versus Suzuki   WR250R versus Suzuki EmptyFri Apr 02, 2010 4:15 pm

I just red today in a magazine, that Suzuki came out with a new model, the RMX450Z. I was also thinking about buying the DRZ400E, but I chose finally the WR250R. I liked much better, because it is much more up-to-date, though it was +30% more expensive.
Now I saw, that RMX450 has very similar technical features as the WR250R (4stroke, injenction etc.). Although I checked carefully on the Internet, I could not find details about the power rating of the RMX450Z.
Did anybody try RMX450Z already? What is the difference to a WR250R?

The RMX450Z compares to the WR450F not the WR250R. the Wr250R is a dual purpose bike. The RMX450Z is a competition machine. You might win a race with the RMX450Z, you will have fun with the WR250R.

I was all set to buy a drz400 myself because I only raced Suzuki RM motorcycles. When I went to the combined Suzuki/Yamaha dealership here, the DRZ and WR were sitting next to each other. End of story, the WR outshined the DRZ.Thats what I bought.Had to change colors.

The DRZ is a completely different bike vs the RMX450Z. The RMX comes from the motocross competition bike. They adapted it for enduro purposes.

The DRZ is a dual purpose that compares to the WR250R.

Powerwise, I'd guess about a 20hp difference once both bikes are uncorked and running properly. :)

Yes,but the RMZ makes a terrible street bike even with baja designs street kit. The WR is the best solution for my needs.
