badmotorscooter and I took a little ride today. We left out of Fayetteville headed south. After a burger at B&M Grocery and 30 miles of pavement we turned off on the dirt. We logged a little over 50 miles in the dirt. Mostly fire and forest service roads, but we tasted a little single track and tackled one gnarly-ass hill.

We stopped when my fuel light came on. First time I've ever put gas in it and they don't offer 91 octane!

So I just get a drop to get me to the Pig Trail Stop. They don't sell Premium either!
We fill up with regular and hit it.

Fun day. After having my bike apart and bad weather for the last month it felt great to finally get out and log a few miles.
It was brisk today, but no complaints. Looks like the weather next week will be even nicer. cheers

Cool Very happy It looks like people are getting out of hibernation. How hot does your bag get sitting on the heat shield?

Have to ask Pete about that. It didn't seem too hot when I checked it, but I'll let him give the final assessment on that. They sure seem secure. I think those are the panniers for the Wolfman tank bag, he just moved them to the rear and mounted them to his GYTR rear fender rack.

it really didn't get all that hot. and that was my main concern with putting them back there. boogn1sh told me to only put clothing in it and after our longest run (about 30 miles pavement) i checked it thoroughly and - while hot - was in no way burned. but i may superglue a piece of leather underneath just to make sure. Overall, I was very happy with the bags.

DOH! I wish you would have called me. I rode 172 miles yesterday around White Rock and Mill Creek, alone (RR coming soon...)
Next time you are coming to AR, ring me up 479.251.2175, ask for Justin.

Here is a pic of the last time I rode with Bob. My little carb'd R6 trying to keep up with his FI R6:
