I dig the windshield setup on the black bike... what is that and how effective is it?

I haven't had time to show it off or take pics.
It's a KTM 690 Enduro Touring Windscreen. Fits perfectly with the lines of the stock numberplate.

Two screws into the plate for the bottom holes and I have a hardware set up I put together that attaches to the HDB clamp to keep tension on the shield.
Works very well, even at speed with my Arai XD3 helmet. Since it has a scoop it creates a pocket of fairly still air right about chin height.

When you get a chance to post an install thread I'd appreciate it. That might be the way I go.

You're talking about THIS screen right?

Yes, that is the screen.

If you have the HDB clamp, the screen, a couple screws/nuts and this $4.99 Polisport Shield Handguard Mount Kit
will get you there with sparer parts to boot.

I may go a little "custom" on the mount ;)

I think I'd like to mount the screen a little higher and angle it back a bit more. I may design a triple clamp bracket to sandwich in under my hand guard mounts (cyra).

...several ways to mount it for sure.
My WR has a Scotts mounted under the barmounts so the quite a bit taller.
Between that and the screen, the clocks kind of disappear into the recesses. Not a big deal.
I would like to design a bracket to bring it back up to level height with the barmounts.
I have the switch wires and all concealed out of the weather under the HBB clamp between the bar risers.

I love the HDB stuff, just have other priorities before dropping that money since I already have hand guards and bars.

Rapid Dog,

That is a great looking screen for the WR. I, and many others I am sure, would appreciate it if you could take the time to show and tell us how you mounted it. Would also appreciate pictures from different angles as well as your comments on its effectiveness at speed, any disadvantages you notice, etc. Thanks in advance.

..will do first chance I get.
I did lidt the parts. As mentioned I have an HDB top clamp.
The rest is rector set intelligence.
Glad to say it works flawless, even at highway speeds wearing my Arai XD3.

...JEEZ, take a look guys, it's not rocket science.
#1, You have the Highway Dirt Bike top clamp, otherwise forget it or do something else.
The windscreen will still work by screwing it to the OEM number plate above the headlight.
#2 See the pic.

I just used some parts from the Polisport kit for the screen to rest against.
One is wedged/bolyed where the HDB handguard attaches.
The other piece is screwed atop that piece pointing forward.
I used a common chair rubber on the end to help with stabilizing the screen and to ressit marring it.

When I get a chance I'll take more pics,
Just buy the Polisport for a cheapass $4.99 and you have alot of options.
Buy the screen, believe me, it works great IMHO.

Now go do it!
