high altitude performance ?

Anybody riding at higher altitudes 8-12,000 ft ? whats the performance like ? I don't live that high but visit colorado every summer and am concerned with it being completely gutless at those altitudes. The answer to this question is the only thing keeping me from becoming an r2 owner.
