Cutting out Empty
PostSubject: Cutting out   Cutting out EmptySat Jul 21, 2012 1:08 pm

I installed an FMF powercore 4 and FMF programmer a few weeks ago. I also did the airbox mod and ais removal and all that stuff. I have been messing with the programmer settings and finally got it running good. Once its warmed up it runs great, accept for one problem.

When I am cruising at around 55 mph and I gun the gas to merge on the freeway, the bike completely cuts out for a second until I let off of the gas and try again, then it runs fine. This has only happened about 3 times. It feels like hitting the kill switch for a second, then switching it back to run. It startles me every time.

Anyone have any ideas, or has this happened to you?

My settings are 3-5-1-8-4-4

5th number in your series. That 4. Bump it up to 6 or higher.

It's a known issue with the FmF programmers.

Thanks Motokid. I'll change that number and post back after I ride it.

I was having similar issues about once every couple of week or so, then recently, it happened several times in one day.

After rsteiger suggested to me in this thread, I checked a bunch of electrical connections and found that my positive terminal on the battery wasn't as tight as it should be. Seems to have fixed the issue -- for now, at least.
