Noise: Stock Pipe vs. FmF Q4

I tried to not raise my voice once I started the X, but looking now I think I did get a touch louder.

Hopefully the sound quality is okay. Tomorrow I'll get the Q4 mounted and get some video of that to compare.

You where talking way loader on the stock one.

First time I've heard anything but the stock....very nice. I like the sound of my exhaust, but the Q4 was just sex.

*fun thing to do on a stocker....helmet with earplugs in/on and put your head right down there infront of the exhaust, that sounds pretty cool.

yep...it's hard to maintain an equal voice volume on two different days.
Hopefully the difference in pipe sounds is there.

I think butterfly swords was more entertaining.

Nice videos motokid...And i deff like the Q4 over stock. But i have to say i like the sound of my Yoshimura rs2 better. I would like to hear a Q4 and powercore 4 in person just to equal compare with the yoshimura rs2 and stock. but....But nice Q4. How much did you get it for?

That is a good deal $270 was that off some website or you just got a good deal on it at a shop?

If y'all want more comparisons, I've got a powercore on the way to me. I'll buy a dB meter from Radio Shack or someplace and maybe MotoKid and I can do a sound comparison between stock (before I change), q4, and the powercore.

That would be the coolest! I'll be waiting.

I don't have a dB meter. Have to ask around. Not something I really want to buy right now.

I was going to buy an inexpensive one probably. I'm less interested in the final numbers and more interested in the difference between each pipe, which any decent meter should be able to handle. Probably not going to happen until after the first of the year as I still need to get a few things together before I change over.

I lived in Baltimore for two years back in the mid 80's.

Perhaps you go north on Rt1 - and I go south. We meet some place in the middle.

Thanks. I've wanted to hear the difference. Sounds like almost none at idle and just a little louder when revving.

Does the pipe hang a little lower on the bracket than the stock pipe?

Keep in mind the FmF has more of an oval shape, plus there's no plastic heat guard.

So yes...it appears it hangs a bit lower. But I did not measure it.

Wow! my WRR has the Powerbomb header and the Powercore 4 with arrestor and it is much louder. Maybe too loud. I hate to spend the $ on a new muffler.

Thanks for posting your comparison vids, now I know I will do it. I'm way past the age when I think louder is better, just because it's louder any way.
