In my opinion it does just the opposite, I removed and sold mine.

| When it comes to bike setup it is always different strokes for different riders. I thought my x handled a lot better on the road with the link, but I also dropped my forks at the same time so who knows. I'm happy with this mod. If you don't need to lower your bike for height adjustment I would never do it however. | |

| Hmmm...and yet if you go thru posts on TT and ADV and waaaay back on here, guys who've done the link mod (not for lowering) have reported that they did feel better hook-up on both the X and the R. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.'

Well may be for an x on the road, but I can't see lowering my suspension 1 inch on a bike used mainly off road.

| First post, stupid question, and a thread hijack (nice).
Looking at buying a used R bike with a Yamalink (haven't seen the bike yet just the pics). Does it just unbolt (I am tall and don't want it) or is there more to it?
