| What are you guys getting? Commuting to work with some light offroad action at night, Im calculating it out to be 61.5mpg on a pretty consistent basis. I also ride like an asshole at times so that could factor in... haha. | |

| Just under 54 mpg.
My reserve light comes on consistently at about 80 miles.
Now I'm one tooth down in front and I don't have a speedo correcter so I really can't say exactly what I'm getting. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| I'm on an X, but I consistently get 60mpg riding "normally". I have gotten as low as 55mpg and as high as 72mpg. | |

| Mine's been consistently up near 70 US MPG for all pavement, a little lower for slower speed gravel roads, but I ride pretty tame... | |

| Liquid cooled, fuel injected 250. I've been keeping track of my fuel mileage right from day one (I actually do that with all my vehicles, so I can see if there's a problem somewhere). Even with the mods I've done on the bike, it's still pretty consistent. I'm not the only one with an R² that gets this kind of fuel performance. Zed gets pretty close to the same on his X IIRC. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| I just can't imagine how "softly" I'd have to ride to get that kind of mileage. You sure you're not talking kilometers per gallon? _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| No...then the numbers would be way off. You don't have to feather the throttle at all, at least I don't. I ride it like I've had it for years. On highway runs I am averaging around 65 mph, with bursts up to 100 to catch up to R6's for a giggle. The bike seems to respond better with that 12 T up front, as I can utilize all 6 gears now and still have room to play. I'm certainly not complaining. I also don't run anything lower than hi-test. I run the same fuel in my big block just because it runs better on it. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

You sure you're not talking kilometers per gallon? I hate to say this, but I think you just don't know how to ride your bike properly... I mean... less than 70 mpg is pushing it... but less than or equal to 60?! Come on man, My 15 year old, over the hill, slightly over weight and mildly under powered XT350 gets 60... Hell my father has stories from when he was my age on his NSU Maxx (LC 2stroke twin back in the 50's) getting MINIMUM 70 mpg... Hell my R1100s gets 60... For a modern LC 4stroke 250 single I wouldn't expect worse that 75.

| I am dead serious.
My bike is stock. I have a 12t countershaft, and an Attitude EFI programmer.
I only put high-test gas in bike from the Shell station that has a separate hose for each grade of fuel.
My reserve light comes on religiously at 80-ish miles. 1.5 gallons of gas and 80 miles equals 53.3333 mpg.
I have a stock exhaust, butterfly glued down and no AIS.
I'm not kidding in any way and I know from other forums that most WR riders are not getting 70mpg.
The only contingency I can think of is I don't have a speedo corrector. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| So how would a non-corrected speedo effect my distance traveled? If I'm roughly 10 mph slower than what's indicated, that would translate to my odometer reading wrong in which direction? Am I going farther than indicated, or the opposite? _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

| That means you're getting better than what it's showing. I have the 12T on mine, which re-geared it. Add on the 606's and now I am where the speedo is reading right. I know it's a PITA with number conversions. I was wondering how the mods were going to affect the overall consumption (Tude and Q4) but so far, I don't notice anything other than performance gains. _________________ A wolf's voice echoed down the mountain 'Share the bounty of the hunt with your brothers and sisters, and forever be strong and free.' | |

| See....I'm reading it the other way. If the bike thinks it's going faster than it really is, then it thinks I'm covering more distance too. So really I'm getting less than 80 miles per 1.5 gallons of gas. Wouldn't it work that way? _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

So really I'm getting less than 80 miles per 1.5 gallons of gas. Wouldn't it work that way? No, it wouldn't. If the speedo is registering your speed 10 below what you are actually doing then you are MISSING miles, you'll have traveled FARTHER per hour than what the bike is saying. You'll have gone farther per unit of fuel than you think you have. Grab a graphing calc and work out the percentage your speedo/odo is off and re factor what your true mileage is.

No...it's the other way. My speedo reads 50 mph, but I'm actually going about 40 mph. The stock Yamaha unit shows faster than reality, and dropping a tooth in front distorts it even more. I've passed radar signs that show speed and at 50mph indicated I'm about 8-10 mph slower on the radar. _________________ 2008 WR250X Gearing: 13t - 48t Power Commander 5 / PC-V Airbox Door Removed - Flapper glued - AIS removed FmF Q4 Bridgestone Battlax BT-003rs

See, that is what I'd expect to see from a 250, even when gassing it.
