WHAT THE HECK IS IT?

I took my gas tank off and a small rubber piece in the shape of a V fell onto the floor and i have no clue where it goes or how to post a picture of it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Rubber grommet that goes on the plastic tank shroud against the frame.

to what WRXer suggested. There should be an identical rubber piece on the other tank shroud. Protects plastic shround from hitting metal frame.
