Skidplate DIY

Made my own skidplate today.
Took a 5mm aluminiumplate, cut in 23cm x 70cm, bend it in a large wise, according to a model of the frame I made in cardboard.
After I have drilled the holes, I mounted the plate, and draw the desired shape, and then cut it out with a jigsaw.

I glued 2mm rubber on the inside, but it is still a little more noisy than before.

Maybe It works like some kind of "guitarbody"  

I've been looking at doing the same thing with some .95 thick kydex.

Looks a lot like the one I made from hdpe. Very nice.

I think I would keep the factory guards on like Bracky did, even though they're not exactly heavy duty.

Those are good looking skidplates.

You should drill a hole below the oil drain bolt so you dont have to remove it to change the oil, this hole also lets mud and water drain out of the skid better.
