| So I bought a project Wr250r for a great price. Just have to buy some parts its missing and do the usual TLC as its been sitting for a couple years and hasn't been turned on since then. The bike needs a new CDI since this one is missing and bike wont turn as it says "ER_1" on display. A new CDI is expensive, will a used CDI from any other model year work? Thanks.

| Just go to one of the many on-line parts catalogues and see if the part numbers are the same (exactly the same, not kinda-sorta) for all of the model years. | |

| They havent changed the cdi/ecu since the wr250r came out so any year will work.
Next to nothing has changed, a 2008 is identical to a 2015 except for the stickers, color of rear fender and fuel pump, the 09 to 15s all have the same fuel pump...

| I did notice from online parts catalogs that parts numbers were same on all years but just wanted to double check it with Actual owners. Thanks guys, went ahead and ordered a used one on eBay for about $100.
Another couples questions if you guys don't mind. when looking at rear fender online i see That is has a ton of little "damper" and "seal" pieces. Are those necessary to install rear fender? cause they are out of stock everywhere and was hoping to get the plastics installed quickly.
Lastly, I can not find the part number for the turn signal and brake light wiring harness that connects from under center of seat and travels to the read license plate assembly. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be great!

| As for the damper/seal stuf, I just used some adhesive strips of rubber, I think its used to seal areas around windows and doors. Bought it at the hardware store. | |

The rear turn signals and brake light and license plate light all have there own wire run to female connectors above the battery next to frame.. Connector colors are, White= tail brake light Yellow= license plate light Black= right turn signal Gray= left turn signal Or, are you saying these female connectors and wiring are missing and you need a new complete wiring harness? All I found was this complete wiring harness.. http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/oemparts/a/yam/50046db0f8700209bc796ec9/electrical-2 Part #13

Today I replaced all the missing nuts and bolts and added new plastics and low profile (DRS) license plate assembly. Just has nothing to connect it to quite yet. I'd having to purchase the whole assembly for just the rear tail light wiring.

hey newb check out Flea/Market for sale part of forum, somebody just posted what looks like a complete wire harness in there parts. I would ask if it was spliced or missing any connectors though.

| If it was mine I'd just cut the female connectors off and splice in some new wire to my lights. If you use some crimp connectors and heat shrink tubing the connection will be just as stong as the stock connectors and super cheap. | |

| I do have the wiring that goes from the fuse box, just not the second half that plugs from the male connectors under the seat to the tail light assembly. I found a website that sells the oem connectors to crimp on an aftermarket tail light assembly, like the drc edge I got. I'm call them tomorrow to make sure it will work. I sent a pm to the guy in the flea market this morning but havent got a response. | |

Ah okay, if its just the connectors you need, this site has them as well.. http://shop.12oclocklabs.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=65 I can assure you these are the same for our bikes, except that the yellow one that goes to the license plate light is not showing, which you can crimp a new wire for that one if required.

| So I installed the DRC Edge plate assembly and ECU I got from ebay today. I got the brake connector kit and turn signals and connector kits from http://shop.12oclocklabs.com/ and installed those today too. Everything lit up and installed with no issues! A huge thanks to 12oClock Labs. I called them earlier in the week and explained my situation. They were a huge help and spent a long time on the phone with me explaining my options and directions on what to do. The cheapest and easiest route to go was with their connector kits by far as I needed no factory harness system. They even went ahead and pre crimped and installed connectors for me and got me the package in 3 days! The bike fired up like new! Thanks for the help guys! | |

| Just a heads up on the drc edge tail light, its not sealed at all and will get wet and die if you dont seal it up with clear silicone or something. Mine quit working in a couple of months because I didnt seal it up until I noticed it getting wet inside, I let it dry out before sealing it up but it was too late. Good to hear you got the bike up and running | |

| Sorry Eric,
From my tiny phone screen I read jake instead of "lake" lol
Another question for you guys,
The oem ignition was damaged by the thief who stole it. You can use a screw driver to turn it on. Can I replace just the key switch component without replacing the whole ignition system? I'm not sure how it would work with the steering lock etc. something like this since it's cheaper then a new oem kit.

I'm excited to take thing out to see how it does. Got new license plate issued from dmv and mounted already, now I just got to get this ignition fixed to get it looking like new. And can anyone recommend a lowering link? Thanks
