| Subject: NJ Pine Barrens closing to all motorized vehicals.......!!!! Tue Aug 18, 2015 9:24 am | |
| I'm surprised no one has posted this yet with all the members that ride in Wharton State Forest, NJ Pine Barrens. Not posting all the details here. But in a nutshell, They are trying to close all access and use of "ALL" motorized vehicals which includes our street legal dual sport bikes, cars, 4X4's, etc, in Wharton State Forest. You will no longer be able to go into the Pine Barrens with "any" motorized vehical, legal or not, for any reason. No more 4X4, driving in to canoe or kayak, fish, hunt, explore, take pictures, etc. How far can you go on foot? So basicly, say goodbye to the Pine Barrens as you know it. No more Dual Sport rides, or enduros. Ok, so here's a chance to try and fight this. Please click the link and sign the petition. Also post it everywhere, face book, email your friends, family and riding buddies, have them do the same. If we loose this place, then where can we go? And what's next? Keep the Pine Barrens open...!!! Please sign this petition. http://petitions.moveon.org/sign/restore-fair-access-to?source=s.fwd&r_by=14099314 Thank You.... | |

| Similar things happening in New Mexico too. No rhyme or reason... Often little more than some bureaucrat trying to garner the most notoriety, with the least amount of constructive ingenuity.
Good on ya for pushing back. Keep us posted.

| Don't remember the site but I was looking at this last month. Seems someone has reached some politicians who visited the pack and many of the closed roads. I guess the 'safety' reasons the Park stated for closing access was completely false and they are working on reopening it. I've also seen that many townships within the Pine Barrens have been openly stating that Pine Barren roads WILL remain open to the public within their township districts.
Seems to be a big push back in NJ for off-road access this past year.
