Hey All,
Hope this is the right forum for this, if not please feel free to redirect me. I'm going to install some Monster ADV Lights, Grip heaters, 12v outlet and maybe a charger outlet. What is the easiest/safest way to do this for an electrical and mechanical idiot? I'll try most mechanical stuff, but I'm rally afraid of screwing up the electrics. Do I have to have something like the Eastern Beaver 3cs or can I just tap into things? Also looking for preschool simple how to guides on how to power and route various items. Thanks for any help.

Dont tap into things, wire the accessories through a relay. It doesnt have to be a fancy one, an ordinary relay for cars ect for a couple of bucks will do. Im sure youtube has guides on how to wire a relay for accessories. thumb

To expand on that.

I have run a new power cable from the battery. (Fused as close as possible to the battery.)
Through a relay(fused), I then switched the relay using the old 'running light' wirse. And then distributed the power out from the relay to my extras. Back to a common earth/ground.

For your setup, I'd run two. One relay switched off high beam for the spots.
And one for accessories.

Id love to hear if others thought I've done that wrong.

I ended up going with the Eastern Beaver 3CS with two switched connections that are only hot when the bike is on and 1 unswitched that is on all the time that I'll use for USB or something

I'd never heard of it.

Very similar off the shelf option to what I described.

Probably paid $20 for the priveledge but easy.
